DRIVING EXPERIENCES
Open lap days are bliss, of course, but high-performance driving can be so much more.
In addition to offering private instruction, P1 Motor Club provides once-in-a-lifetime group driving experiences that thrill, delight, and challenge drivers of all skill levels and ages.
From the young teen driving for the first time to the seasoned pro expanding his or her skills, P1’s programs cater to the interests of all enthusiasts. Each session includes professional driving instruction and is specifically tailored to the experience level of each participant.
Below are just a few examples of the driving experiences you may enjoy at P1.
Race Schools
- Adolescent and adult drivers with little to no racing experience will master high-performance driving techniques such as braking, cornering, and car control, and will learn foundational racing techniques such as racing lines, on-track etiquette, and racing strategy. Graduates may become eligible for P1 racing series.
- Advanced drivers who have prior racing experience will learn advanced racing concepts such as race craft, strategy, and data analysis, and will participate in simulated races with other members and pros.
- P1’s master classes pair world-renowned experts with small groups interested in mastering more niche skills. Want to know how to master racecar setup with an IMSA engineer? Drive your GT3 RS with a Porsche factory driver? These are the classes for you!
Karting Camps
Many Formula 1 drivers began their careers in karts, and P1 is proud to support and train both aspiring and experienced young talent through its various karting camps. Whether you are eager to start karting or want to enhance your lap times with advanced techniques, P1’s camps will help.
P1’s instructors cater to individual skill and maturity levels, and focus on on-track etiquette, understanding racing lines, and passing techniques.
Rallycross School
P1’s Rallycross School will introduce participants to the fundamentals of European-style rallycross and master the dirt with effective throttle oversteer, trail and hand braking, standing starts, joker lap strategies, and more on our 0.75-mile hard-packed clay course, which includes cambered turns, elevations, jumps, and more. If you want to have fun in the dirt, it’s hard to beat the thrill of a cross car (one of ours or your own) on a track! No prior experience is required, and there is no age limit. However, participants must meet our height requirements and be mature enough to take clear instruction.
TEEN RACE CAMP
Developed by the same team who created the ground-breaking program at Monticello Motor Club, P1’s Teen Race Camp is the pinnacle of youth motorsports programming worldwide. Teen Race Camp provides once-in-a-lifetime, week-long overnight experiences for drivers ages 13-19, with multiple programs depending on experience level.
- Intro programs will teach teens with little to no driving experience the basics of high-performance driving techniques — like braking, high-speed avoidance, and car control — that will help them be safer drivers on the road and on track.
- Intermediate programs will establish a foundation in racing techniques like racing lines, on-track etiquette, and race craft.
- Advanced programs will cater towards students interested in entering pro racing, with an emphasis on advanced technique and performance. Students may also attend master classes related to relevant off-track skills, like public speaking and marketing.
Regardless of whether your teen drivers casually or competitively, your campers will create bonds that last a lifetime. From final-lap battles to s’mores and bonfires, P1’s Teen Race Camp has it all.
Drift School
P1’s Drift School provides a safe, fun environment for more experienced drivers to learn exciting new driving skills. Ever watched Tokyo Drift and thought “that could be me”? Led by Rally Champion and P1’s Director of Fun Chris Duplessis, this class will teach you how to slide just about anything. The new driving control techniques you will learn can be applied to a wide range of situations, from improving safe driving to competing in drifting series.
Car Control
Car control classes at P1 allow drivers to safely develop car control skills on our skid pad, which becomes slippery and wet at the flip of a switch.
