Community Support

... consistent with the EDC’s focus on growth and economic development...

"P1’s developers have a proven history of success in motorsports-centered projects and expect to invest an estimated $200 million in the St. Lucie County project within the first five years... will create 100 full-time-equivalent jobs, with nearly 90 percent expected to be filled by county residents. The estimated average salary for year-round staff will be $77,000, more than 54 percent above the county average. A large majority of the homes proposed for the project will be considered second homes by their owners... contributing to local tax rolls while having little to no impact on local government services such as schools, transportation and water/sewer services. In addition, P1 Motor Club is committed to establishing relationships with the community through neighborhood outreach programs... plans to partner with St. Lucie Public Schools and Indian River State College to provide... internships (to) students enrolled in automotive and hospitality studies... supports the EDC and St. Lucie County’s interest in supporting targeted industries and improving the economic quality of life for St. Lucie residents."

... (will provide) our first responders with significant and unique training opportunities.

"... I am excited to see something of this caliber come to our community... impressed with their attention to and primary focus on life safety and their commitment to building the track and safety features to an impressive worldwide auto racing safety standard. I appreciate that they are committed to... providing our first responders with significant and unique training opportunities."

They are committed to being good neighbors and to giving back to the community in which they operate, work, and live. They care, and it shows.

"In 2007, our town (where I served as Supervisor for 20 years) approved a 667-acre development of a “private motor club” called Monticello Motor Club... MMC owners (including P1 developer Ari Straus, who served as MMC Managing Partner for over a decade)... overdelivered on every promise they made to our community... MMC’s impact on Thompson tax revenues exceeded all projections. Local not-for-profits host many fundraising events at MMC... Local kids attending vocational automotive repair shop found summer internships at MMC’s race shop, and several became employees or pursued careers as racecar mechanics. MMC helped put Monticello on the map... I am certain (P1 developers) will repeat their success and deliver benefits beyond expectations... they are committed to being good neighbors and to giving back to the community in which they operate, work, and live. They care, and it shows."

... actively exploring the many ways this project can enhance the learning opportunities for students and graduates..

"Indian River State College and P1 Motor Club are actively exploring the many ways this project can enhance the learning opportunities for students and graduates. Through programs like internships, students can gain real time experience working with some of the most advanced technology in the automotive, computer, design, engineering, culinary (catering), digital imagery, and many other programs offered here at Indian River State College. I am especially pleased that leadership from P1 Motor Club has spent time meeting with our automotive instructors and touring our new facilities to support these expanding initiatives."

I look forward to welcoming P1 to St. Lucie County!

"I have met with the principals and heard their plans to build a truly unique destination, and I believe it will be an extraordinary addition to our community. I am especially impressed by their pledge to placing as little impact upon our County and its residents as possible while, at the same time, looking to contribute to the community. I have heard, and will hold them to, their pledge to support local non-profits, work with Indian River State College to provide opportunities for job training in racing, technology, and hospitality related trades, and allow law enforcement officers and other first responders to enjoy training opportunities that we do not currently have available so close to home. I look forward to welcoming P1 to St. Lucie County!"
